Malik Willis Liberty
Liberty is where Willis truly shined, and he gained the playing time he was looking for all of college. Here, Willis threw for 5,122 yards and threw for 47 touchdowns. 27 of these came in his Senior year where he led the conference in passing touchdowns.

In Tennessee, Malik threw for 350 yards and no touchdowns over his two-year stint with the team. He had a record of 1-2 and had a passer rating of 118. Packers Fan Reaction
Packers fans were ecstatic the other day after Malik Willis had a practically flawless outing against the Titans... one fan stated, "If you would have told me after Jordan Love went down that we would win our next game on the road with Malik Willis, I would have called you crazy, but here we are!"
https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2024/09/21/packers-jordan-love-malik-willis-titans-quarterback-week-3-nfl-injury-update/
Media Reaction
The media after the game also had some pretty crazy reactions toward Willis's performance. One analyst said, "This is stunning from Malik Willis. He looked like a legit starter-- Titans fans have to be sick seeing the difference between Willis and Levis right now." This reaction makes a whole lot of sense since the Titans let go Willis and now he is out playing their team's starting QB!

Fan Reaction 2
Another reactions toward Willis's performance came from a fan who said, "Malik willis comes back to tennessee to face the team that traded him 27 days ago and runs for a touchdown on his first drive. That’s what it’s all about."

DARNOLDS COMEBACK
https://www.ocregister.com/2017/08/02/how-sam-darnold-became-a-usc-quarterback-4/
Sam Darnold Bio
Sam Darnold was born in Dana Point, California, and played football at San Clemente High School. He played basketball in high school as well, and his coach told scouts that he was a perfect college-level player but obviously decided to stick with football. Darnold also played linebacker for his team and was first-team all-coast in both defense and offense. After having an amazing senior year, Darnold decided to stay close to home and play college football at the University of Southern California.
https://www.latimes.com/sports/usc/la-sp-usc-passing-game-20161121-story.html
Sam Darnold College
Sam Darnold played two seasons at the University of Southern California. His freshman year, he threw for 30 touchdowns and over 3 thousand yards with a 161 passer rating. But his sophomore year is where he really shined, Darnold led the Pac-12 in passing yards with 4,100 and also averaged a conference-high 8.6 yards per play.
https://bigblueview.com/2019/6/27/18716286/ny-giants-what-if-sam-darnold-saquon-barkley-eli-manning
Sam Darnold Draft
He was selected 3rd overall in the 2017 draft by the New York Jets and before the draft, Darnold was the heavy favorite to be taken first overall by the Browns who went 0-16 from the previous season. But, before the draft, all tides shifted, and it seemed the Browns were set on drafting Heisman winner Baker Mayfield, who they ended up taking. This meant that the following team in need of a QB (the New York Jets) would take Danrold with their first overall selection.

Sam Darnold Jets
Darnold played three seasons with the Jets but didn’t have the best stint with the team. His overall record was 13-25 and he threw for only 45 touchdowns along with 39 interceptions

Sam Darnold Post-Jets
After his time in New York, Darnold bounced around from teams like the Panthers and 49ers but never really took over the starting role quite like he had in New York. This wasn’t until he was traded to the Vikings. The Viking’s first pick JJ McCarthy, Michigan Quarterback and national championship winner was supposed to be the team’s number 1 guy, but after a season-ending injury during OTA’s, Darnold got his chance to be the starting quarterback, for the first time since the Jets in 2020.

Sam Darnold Today
Many were skeptical, But Darnold has shined through his first five weeks, leading the NFL in touchdowns (11) and leading the NFL in wins starting the year 5-0, the first time the Vikings have started this strong hasn’t been since the 2016 season. Against his former team in Week 5, Darnold had his worst game of the season, throwing for one interception and ending the game with zero passing or running touchdowns. But even though he may not have had his best performance, he was still able to come out with the win against the Jets.

Vikings vs Jets Media Reaction
CNN reacted to the game and stated, “Sam Darnold got some revenge on the team who drafted him as he led the Minnesota Vikings to victory over the New York Jets on Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.”
https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/jets-vikings-game-recap-london-aaron-rodgers-week-5-2024
Fan reaction
One Vikings fan who reacted to the game said on his channel that, “Sam Darnold did JUST ENOUGH for the Minnesota Vikings to beat the New York Jets.” It seems fans have come to enjoy watching Darnold play, but as we know, opinions on athletes, and especially Quarterbacks, can change very quickly.

Bryson Dechambeau Background
Bryson DeChambeau was born on September 16, 1993, in Modesto, California. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and studied physics. While attending SMU, Dechambeau won the NCAA Division 1 Title for golf. He is only the third man in history to win an NCAA Division 1 title, the US Amateur Championship, and the US Open after Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

Dechambeau PGA Career
Bryson officially turned pro in 2016, and while golfing for the PGA Tour, he played a total of 148 events, making 105/148 total cuts. Throughout his PGA career, Dechambeau accumulated 26 Top 5 Finishes, 3 Third Place Finishes, 6 Runner-Ups, and 9 PGA Tour wins. These performances earned the professional golfer an astounding $34,472,287 while in the PGA.

Dechambeau LIV Career
In June of 2022, Bryon Dechambeau, along with many other former PGA Tour golfers, decided to join LIV Golf. Since making the switch, Dechambeau has played in 36 events, cutting 33 of the possible 36 times. In his 2 years as a LIV golfer, Bryson has won 2 events, LIV Golf Greenbrier in August of 2023, and LIV Golf Chicago, in September of 2023. Instead of making money from events, like the format of the PGA Tour, Bryson Dechambeau has a contract with LIV, estimating a value of at least $125 Million, a major reason why the star, and many others, left the PGA in the first place.

LIV Golf Controversy
The emergence of LIV Golf has sparked significant controversy, primarily due to its ties to Saudi Arabia and allegations of "sportswashing," where nations use sports to improve their global image while diverting attention from human rights abuses. Funded by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, LIV Golf offers lucrative contracts that attract top players, challenging traditional golf structures like the PGA Tour. For players, this means the potential for unprecedented earnings and fewer tournaments, providing a more flexible schedule. However, many players have faced backlash for aligning with a regime criticized for its human rights record.

Future of Professional Golf
The future of professional golf is increasingly shaped by the ongoing rivalry between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, with players like Bryson DeChambeau at the forefront. The controversy surrounding LIV Golf, backed by substantial funding, has sparked debates over player loyalty, competition, and the evolution of the sport. As traditionalists and innovators clash, golf may look different in the years to come, balancing the rich heritage of the PGA with new opportunities for players seeking financial incentives and a more modern style of golf in LIV.

EDWARDS BACK IN BOCO
Dylan Edwards Bio
Dylan Edwards was born in Derby Kansas in 2004 and is 20 years old. He has played football since childhood and even played running back for his team as a kid.
Dylan Edwards childhood
Dylan Edwards was a star for his childhood team when he was just 10 years old. Not only was he one of the best players on his team but his Quarterback was Avery Johnson, Kansas State's current quarterback. So Edwards has been taking handoffs from his current QB for as long as he can remember.
Dylan Edwards Highschool
Edwards attended Derby High School in Kansas. He was one of the best players in the state and ranked as a 4-star coming out of school. He rushed for 6,400 yards and 95 touchdowns. He was originally committed to Notre Dame but decided to de-commit and sign with Colorado to play under their new Head Coach Deion Sanders.
Dylan Edwards Colorado
Dylan thrived in his first-ever game in College Football. Against TCU, Edwards rushed for 24 yards and caught 5 balls for 135 yards with 4 touchdowns. But after this thrilling performance, Edward's production declined, and he only had 1 more touchdown and 200 more yards by the end of the year. So, he decided to go back home and play for Kansas State.
Dylan Edwards Kansas State
Here on his new team, Edwards is back home and even playing with his pop-warner quarterback. So far this season, Edwards has rushed for 250 yards and has scored 4 touchdowns. He also averages 6.4 yards per rush attempt
Dylan Edwards Vs. Colorado
Against his former team, Dylan Edwards rushed 7 times for 21 yards and a touchdown. He also had 3 catches for 27 yards and some good punt returns. Kansas State came out on top and they beat the Buffaloes 31 to 28.
Media Reaction
The media stated how the Buffs just came up short against ranked Kansas State almost completing the upset. Many believe that the reason the buffs lost in the end was because of losing Travis Hunter late in the 2nd quarter due to a hand injury. He was sidelined for the rest of the game which was a huge blow to the offense and defense since Hunter starts on both sides of the ball. The media thinks the Buffs have to be perfect to make the playoffs or even a bowl game if it is still in the cards.
Coach Prime reaction
Coach Prime was not happy with the outcome of the game. He stated that this game was a wake-up call for the team and that if they want the opportunity to play at the end of the season they have to step it up now.

bECKY HAMMON A WNBA LEGEND
Analytics
This week, we are going to do something a little bit different. Instead of covering a male athlete, we will speak about a female athlete in Week 6. We will also use analytics to determine whether Becky Hammon was a better passer, scorer, or defender throughout her career (something we have not done before on any post).
dishing, Draining, or Defending?
Becky Hammon (WNBA Hall of Famer) ranks 16th all-time in points scored, 6th all-time in assists, and 25th all-time in steals. Hammon only averaged the most points on her team once but averaged the most assists in the league one year as she was the 2007 WNBA Assists Champion. After using analytics and combining this data we can determine that Hammon was a better passer than scorer and defender and is currently considered one of the greatest passers of all time.
Becky Hammon Bio
Becky Hammon was born in 1977 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Hammon grew up with an older brother who she played sports with and learned to dribble a basketball at an early age because of this. After learning to play basketball at such a young age, she was ahead of others, and this translated into high school.
Becky Hammon High School
Hammon played basketball at Stevens High School in her hometown. As a junior, she was named South Dakota Miss Basketball and was on the all-state first team her senior year. She averaged 26 points her senior year and is the career scoring leader at Stevens, where she scored 1,417 points. She also scored a career-high of 41 points against Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
Becky Hammon College
Becky went on to play her collegiate career at Colorado State University. Here, Becky became the most decorated CSU women’s basketball player ever. Hammon won 14 conference Player of the Week awards, four first-team All-Conference awards, First-team All-American award in 1999, WAC Mountain Division Player of the Year in 1998 and 1999, WAC Pacific Division Player of the Year in 1997, and WAC Freshman of the Year in 1996. Hammon once held the school career record for points, points per game, field goals, field goal attempts, free throws made, free throw attempts, 3-pointers, 3-point attempts, steals, and assists when she graduated. She led CSU to NCAA tournament appearances in 1996, 1998, and 1999.
Becky Hammon Liberty
Hammon went undrafted in the WNBA 1999 Draft but was signed by the New York Liberty in May of that year. She went on to play eight seasons for the Liberty, being named to three all-star games and averaging 13 points and three assists. She was voted to an All-WNBA 2nd team and made six playoff series during her time there.
Trade/Media reaction
The 2007 WNBA Draft was a day full of trades, including the 1st and 2nd overall picks being traded this day. One of these trades included All-Star Becky Hammon, who was sent to San Antonio from the Liberty. The San Antonio Silver Stars selected Jessica Davenport with the 2nd overall pick, then traded her and a 2008 first-round pick to New York for Hammon and a 2008 second-rounder. “The trades were the story of the day," said ESPN reporter and former WNBA star Rebecca Lobo. "Especially their magnitude. Anytime you trade the No. 1 pick, that's a big deal. And not only was the No. 2 pick traded, but it was for Becky Hammon! It's a huge deal."
Performance Against Former Team
Hammon faced the liberty the following year, and it was clear which team had won the trade. Hammon dropped 22 against her former team and had 7 assists to go along with it. She also went 7 of 7 from the line and led her team to a 79-71 win.
Rest of her Career
Becky finished her career with three All-WNBA teams and made four more all-star games. During her first year with the Silver Stars, she led the league in assists per game and was voted into the WNBA Hall of Fame after her career had finished and the Stars organization also retired her jersey.
Becky Hammon Coaching Career
Hammon was hired by the San Antonio Spurs as an assistant coach in 2014. Hammon was the Spurs Summer League head coach in 2015 and was the first female to be a head coach in the Summer League. On December 30, 2020, Hammon became the first female “acting” head coach in NBA history after the team’s head coach was ejected during a game against the Lakers and she stepped in for the rest of the game. DOUG IS HANGING ON BY A THREAD
Bio - Doug Pederson
Pederson was born in Bellingham, Washington, in 1968. He was raised near Ferndale, Washington, and attended Ferndale High School, and was an All-State selection in football, basketball, and baseball. His quarterback coach at Ferndale was Ray Ramsay.
High School Career
Doug Pederson went to Ferndale High School and played Quarterback, Corner, and Kicker for his team. He was All-State at the corner position and All-League as a Quarterback and Kicker. In his High School career, he threw for 19 touchdowns and 1800 yards. On top of that, he rushed for 1023 yards and 5 touchdowns.
college
Pederson played in 1987 at Northeast Louisiana University — known today as the University of Louisiana-Monroe. At ULM, Pederson set passing records that still stand today. Northeast Louisiana won 29 games in his four years, including that 1987 I-AA national championship and the 1990 Southland Conference title. His most memorable game came in 1989 when he finished 46-of-71 passing for 619 yards and five touchdowns at Stephen F. Austin. His passing yardage that day still stands as a single-game school record.
NFL career
Pederson played in the NFL as a backup QB for most of his career. Even though he had a below-average career in the league, he was still signed to teams like the Dolphins and Eagles and played behind notable QBs like Dan Marino and Brett Farve during his career and even won the 1996 Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers as a backup.
First coaching job
After his retirement, Pederson was hired as head coach of Calvary Baptist Academy, a private Christian high school in Shreveport, Louisiana. Pederson was the head coach at Calvary for four years and held a 33–7 record in the regular season and an 8–3 record in the post-season
NFL Coaching Jobs
On January 29, 2009, Pederson was hired as the offensive quality control coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, reuniting him with his former head coach, Andy Reid. He was promoted to quarterbacks coach in February 2011. In January 2013, Pederson followed Andy Reid to the Kansas City Chiefs to be an offensive coordinator. Following a 1–5 start in 2015, Andy Reid gave Pederson play-calling power, and the Chiefs proceeded to win their last ten games, which made Pederson a head coaching candidate for 2016
Eagles HC job and winning the bowl
In January 2016, Pederson was hired as head coach by the Eagles replacing Chip Kelly. Despite having Sam Bradford the Eagles drafted Carson Wentz with the second overall pick in 2016 draft. Right before the season began, Bradford was traded to the Vikings and Wentz was named the starting quarterback as a rookie. Pederson and Wentz started their first NFL season together 7–9, missing the playoffs. But the following year the Eagles went 13-3 and even though Wentz was having an MVP-caliber season he suffered from a season-ending injury at the end of the regular season being replaced by Nick Fowles. Fowles went on a miraculous run in the payoffs and ultimately beat Tom Brady and the Patriots in the Super Bowl making Pederson the first Eagles head coach to win a Super Bowl for the franchise.
Current job and overall record with the team
Pederson is the current head coach with the Jaguars and had a successful first season with the team but since that year the team has not seen many wins and Pederson is at risk of losing his job.
Jaguars against the Eagles
This week Pederson’s team faced off against his former team the Eagles. the 6-2 Eagles were up by three scores for the majority of the game, but Pederson’s team made a close comeback and was only down by one score his team could not make the full comeback and ultimately lost the matchup vs. his former squad. The final socre was 23 to 28 Eagles.

Current team
During this offseason (2024), the Panthers decided to make a trade with the New York Giants and sent Burns to them in exchange for a second-round pick, a fifth-round pick next year and both teams swapped fifth-round picks this year. Burns also signed a five-year, 141-million-dollar contract with the team which made him the second-highest-paid defensive end in the league.
How he performed against his former team
This weekend, the Panthers and Giants faced off in the very first NFL game played in Germany. There, the game went to overtime, but the Giants ultimately lost 20-23 against the Panthers. Burns recorded one sack and nine total tackles, but in the end, it wasn’t enough to get the win.
Fans Reaction
Giants fans reacted to the game, and one fan said he wants the team to draft a new QB with their first-round pick. He said, “I’m not above rooting for losses. Needless wins are what cost us Jaden Daniels and Drake Maye. I'm not making the same. One step forward and two steps back? I don't think so. Cut Jones in the offseason, draft our franchise QB with our top-3 pick."
